Stanley J. Amernick, M.D.
Dr. Amernick has been practicing general Ophthalmology for over 35 years. After graduation from the University of Maryland Medical School, he completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Maryland. He is a board certified Ophthalmologist and holds the position of Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of MD St. Joseph Medical Center.
Dr. Amernick performs routine as well as comprehensive eye examinations including the medical diagnosis and treatment of ocular problems. He also specializes in advanced techniques of small incision cataract surgery and has expertise in the use of toric and multifocal implants to reduce post-operative dependency on wearing eye glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Amernick’s sub-specialty interest has been in oculoplastics to surgically repair eye lid abnormalities. This would include removal of excess eyelid skin of the upper and lower lids (blepharoplasty), lid droop (ptosis repair), and repair of the lower lids (ectropion/entropion).
